Inmates riot within the St. Louis Justice Middle, breaking home windows and throwing objects

ST. LOUIS – Police have been monitoring a situation involving inmates who rioted again Sunday night at the St. Louis Justice Center.

The uprising broke out around 8.45 p.m. on the third floor.

According to the police, around 60 inmates blew windows, started fires and threw things on the floor.

The inmates scream for air, water and food from the windows.

There were no confirmed weapons. There were no officers in danger.

The St. Louis Police Department was there and helped the Corrections Department.

At around 10:15 p.m., the officers were able to clear the inmates out of the windows and push the crowd back. Another fire started shortly afterwards on the 2nd floor, but was put out by firefighters.

This is a developing story. FOX2 will provide further details as they become available.
