Newfold Digital, the company that owns Network Solutions, Register.com, BlueHost, Domain.com, and other web presence brands, has acquired Yoast.
Yoast produces the de facto plugin for search engine optimization for WordPress sites. It’s installed on 12 million WordPress sites.
The acquisition offers Newfold new opportunities in the areas of SEO and social media. It also provides a direct link to 12 million website owners who may be interested in purchasing its other products.
Private equity firm Clearlake Capital privatized Endurance International Group earlier this year and then acquired Web.com. Siris Capital, owned by Web, contributed its equity to the new company. The company has been renamed Newfold Digital.
