Omaha Automobile Wash helps unfold trip pleasure for charity

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – An Omaha company is a surefire way to spread Christmas cheer during the pandemic.

The VIP car wash near 120th and I Streets previously hosted a successful “haunted house” wash and is now going out for Christmas.

“Greg and I believe car washes can be pretty boring, so we want to bring something fun and event-filled and community-driven to really get energized and do something fun and different,” said owner Michael Blatchford.

Thousands of lights and favorite characters from vacation will greet customers inside.

“Anything we can do to help the community is what we care about,” said Blatchford.

Blatchford has only owned the room for a few months. He said when he took it on, he wanted to make something spectacular out of what was normally a non-exciting job.

Not only is it fun celebrating Christmas, but it’s also helping a local organization – 10 percent of all proceeds go to the Autism Action Partnership to help buy sensory kits.

“It’s a community event where we can have fun and really do something to support our community in these challenging times. But also support something like the Autism Action Partnership’s mission and what they’re trying to do, ”said Blatchford.

The event takes place from Sunday to Thursday from 5.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in December.
