Pitt-Bradford Receives Eight Nationwide Promotional Awards | Native

BRADFORD, PA. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford received eight national university advertising awards for its alumni magazine, which recruits materials, newspaper ads, website design and social media content.

Pitt-Bradford received one gold, four silver, one bronze, and two merit awards in the 36th Annual Educational Promotion Program, the largest educational promotion competition in the United States.

This year, a jury of marketing and advertising professionals evaluated more than 2,000 entries from 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools in all 50 states and several countries.

Pitt-Bradford received a Gold Award in the Newspaper Ad Series category for a series of print ads published in local newspapers last spring that highlighted student experiences and alumni achievements.

In the website category, silver prizes were awarded for the university’s redesigned website, which was launched at the end of 2019. in the mobile and social media content categories for a series of posts featuring nursing students and alumni; and in the Search Items category for a large poster to be sent to prospective students.

In the external publications category, the university’s alumni magazine Portraits received a bronze award, which includes stories about alumni on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic and about the President of Pitt-Bradford, Dr. Catherine Koverola, included. Last month, the same issue was awarded silver by the Council for the Promotion and Support of the Awards of Educational District II.

Pitt-Bradford also received two Merit Awards. The first was in the “Recruiting Package” category for materials created to assist the admissions team in recruiting new students. and the other in the direct mail category for a series of postcards sent to students starting their college search.

“These materials, used to share the stories of our amazing students and alumni, were created by an incredibly talented team of writers, designers, editors and photographers,” said Pat Frantz Cercone, executive director of communications and marketing for Pitt-Bradford.

John Sizing of JS Publication Design in Wellesley, Massachusetts designed the award-winning approvals publications and Portraits magazine. Mark Zampogna, a 1988 Pitt Bradford alumnus and owner of Laser Layouts of Bradford, created the award-winning newspaper ads. mStoner Inc., a creative agency headquartered in Chicago, designed the award-winning website.

In the past three years, Pitt-Bradford has received 21 Educational Advertising Awards.
