Seo In-guk sings “All of Me” by John Legend
In addition to being a talented actor, Seo In-guk is a professional singer-songwriter with a voice that will make your heart beat faster. In 2009 he took part in the Superstar K singing competition and won the main prize. In 2012 he got the lead role in the nostalgic youth drama Reply 1997 in the 1990s, where he sang two singles for the soundtrack – All for You and Just the Way We Love – both duets with co-star Jung Eun-ji of the South Korean girl group Apink. The former, a remake of the song by Cool, became one of the best-selling singles on the Gaon Singles Chart in 2012.
In episode 13 of the 2016 romantic comedy Shopping King Louie, in which he played with Nam Ji-hyun, he played the piano and sang the Korean version of the song This Is the Moment, the English original of which was written by Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse for the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde.
On YouTube, videos in which he performs English cover songs such as All of Me by John Legend, Home by Michael Bublé, Just Once by James Ingram and I’m Yours by Jason Mraz show his versatility as a singer and how he changes and perfects his skills the English language over the years. SEO In-guk audition from JYP Entertainment
As mentioned earlier, Seo first stepped into the spotlight when he joined Superstar K in 2009. But music has always been something that the actor is passionate about. In fact, he has loved music since he was 10 and was the kid who really wanted to perform in front of an audience. He names Kim Jung-min, a Korean rock musician and actor, as his growing role model and decided to become a singer.
Seo loved music so much that he ended up studying applied music at Daebul University while auditioning for entertainment agencies like JYP Entertainment.

In 2012, in an article by Carla Sunwoo, Seo Korea told JoongAng Daily that he was struggling with bulimia, an eating disorder that began when judges during an audition for JYP Entertainment warned him about his weight. “At the first audition they said I should lose some weight … From that point on, I became obsessed with losing weight. After every meal I vomited so I could lose weight,” he says, adding that when he returned to his agency back after losing enough weight, he was rejected again because his “singing had deteriorated”.
He suspects that it was due to the damage to his vocal cords from vomiting. Years later, after overcoming these obstacles, he won the grand prize at Superstar K, which helped him regain his self-esteem and confidence.
Aside from his weight, he sometimes thinks he’s an ugly duckling and says, “Personally, I think I have a strange face. Sometimes I look good and sometimes I look ugly [of Pipeline] found this strange picture of me very good. He also said that my eyes and my aura attract people. I was very grateful for his compliment “at the pipeline press conference.

In contrast to his role as the last surviving heir to a chaebol chairperson in 2016’s Shopping King Louie series, Seo’s life is more of a rags-to-riches type of life. His father was allegedly a welder and his mother picked boxes and recyclables from the trash to make money so she could feed him and his younger sister. He said he didn’t even have KRW 10,000 (HK $ 70) in his wallet while he was a student.
To this day he sees his mother as his role model and says: “My mother had difficulties since I was a child … Of course, my father is also my role model, but the reason I chose my mother is that” she had a lot of trouble getting recycled papers to raise me … even after I made her debut, she continued this work. I told her to stop and rest comfortably, but she said she didn’t want because if she rested and stopped working, then body would get sick and she told me it was fun to meet new people “.
It was reported that he gave his mother the now-closed Coffee Natteurae, a coffee shop in her hometown. He also opened Sojindam Ulsan, a restaurant that is run by his sister. “I think I am similar to my mother in that regard. I can’t take a break or rest. If I do, I just want to go back to work. So she’s my role model, ”he adds.
