The net present VCUarts Qatar BFA + MFA 2021 begins this week

Virginia Commonwealth University of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar), a partner university of the Qatar Foundation (QF), will launch the online exhibition of this year’s graduate cohort of artists and designers on Monday.

The online show is a collective presentation of the skills and talents of the VCUarts Qatar Class of 2021, which is made up of 85 graduates.
Design for Aging, Homelessness, Cultural Protection in Qatar, Gender Stereotyping, Third Culture Children, Mental Wellbeing, Nationality and Identity, Social Hierarchies and Accessories are some of the topics examined by this year’s cohort of Fashion Design Graduates from Graphic Design, Interior Design , MFA in design and painting + printmaking.
Although most of the academic year was online, VCUarts Qatar ensured that the students had access to resources enabling them to study techniques such as animation, textile design, silk printing, manufacturing technology, visual languages, product, print and website design as well Incorporate typography, home fashion merchandising, building codes, interior graphics, printmaking, digital painting, screen printing, lithography, computer programming, and photographic stenciling techniques in their graduation projects.
“Our first BFA + MFA online show last year created an even wider reach so that industry and media professionals could see and appreciate the talent and creativity of VCUarts Qatar,” said Amir Berbi ?, Dean of VCUarts Qatar. “This year we will continue in the same way and look forward to introducing you to the work of our graduating class from 2021. The projects on display show how, despite the circumstances in which they found themselves, this final group dared to venture off the beaten path to explore areas as diverse as topics that affect humanity around the world and those that the everyday offer a bizarre, lighter variant of the ordinary and the normal. “
The Class of 2021 follows in the footsteps of alumni who distinguish themselves in the four corners of the world. Some of them have won international awards such as the International Property Awards and the Red Dot Award, while others have had their work exhibited at prestigious exhibitions and events in Doha, Dubai, London, Berlin, Moscow and Paris and Hong Kong.
