Watchung | City Web site Redesign Firm Echoes Sentinel Information
MONITORING – The district’s website is slated to get a new look once a software company finishes redesigning www.watchungnj.gov.
The Borough Council unanimously voted Thursday, May 20, to commission Spatial Data Logic from Somerset, a community website design company, to sign a $ 20,000 contract for the project.
The council discussed the idea of redesigning the website over and over again over the past year. City Councilor Ronald Jubin thanked the public and the city council for their patience at the meeting.
“This is an exciting undertaking, but also one where we wanted to make sure we got input from the public, the mayor and the council,” said Jubin.
Spatial Data Logic is expected to work with the various city departments and committees to update their websites as the process progresses, said Mayor Keith Balla.
Charlie Neiss, a member of the district’s Green Team Committee, said he recently went through the entire website as Website Functional Factors to earn Sustainable Jersey certification.
“Every box on the checklist is checked, he said.” Everything about this site is well organized and working well – you can get the information you want. Granted, it’s a really old design and it needs a facelift, but the current navigation structure is exactly what we need. “
